This dataset contains records of vascular plant species from the Biological Survey of South Australia. Preparation from raw data obtained via AEKOS involved the selection of data fields, the removal of intraspecific taxa (only genus and species used to define individual taxa) and removal of duplicate records and those not determined to species.

We at TERN acknowledge the Traditional Owners and Custodians throughout Australia, New Zealand and all nations. We honour their profound connections to land, water, biodiversity and culture and pay our respects to their Elders past, present and emerging.
Purpose
A georeferenced implementation of weighted endemism. Development of weighted endemism calculations and mapping in the R environment, using alternative methods for estimating species ranges. This dataset was used to test functions and compare the results among methods. Identifying spatial hotspots of vegetation biodiversity, fragmentation and climate sensitivity as conservation targets. A largely empirical project aiming to identify areas (in South Australia) with high biodiversity values and their intersection with threatening processes at regional scales.
