This data contains a once-off general structural description according to the National Vegetation Information System (NVIS) level 5 for the core 1 hectare plot in the Tumbarumba Wet Eucalypt site in 2015. Dominant growth form, cover, height and species (up to 5 species in order of dominance) for up to 3 sub-stratum per traditional strata (Ground, Mid and Upper).

Purpose
Sampling vegetation structure provides a comprehensive means of describing and representing vegetation information based on establishing relationships between structural and floristic data. The vegetation community is the most commonly-used method for defining and communicating a species’ distribution by relating the species’ observation points and the vegetation type in which they are situated.

Vegetation structure description:
A once-off general structural description according to the National Vegetation Information System (NVIS) level 5 (Australian Vegetation Attribute Manual, 2003; https://www.dcceew.gov.au/environment/land/native-vegetation/national-vegetation-information-system) was carried out within the core 1 ha plot at the Tumbarumba Wet Eucalypt site in 2015. Dominant growth form, cover, height and species (up to 5 species in order of dominance) for up to 3 sub-stratum per traditional strata (Ground, Mid and Upper).The dominant growth form, cover, height and species per traditional strata (Ground, Mid and Upper) were recorded.

The Tumbarumba Wet Eucalypt site is located in the Bago State Forest, near Batlow New South Wales. The vegetation within the site is classified as open wet sclerophyll Eucalypt forest.
