The dataset comprises vegetation occurrence along a point intercept survey of foliar canopy cover in the Core 1 ha plot at the Warra Tall Eucalypt site in 2013.

Plot setup:
Parallel transects running E-W (original 1 ha plot) or N-S (60 x 100 m extension) were laid out using a tape. The E-W transects were located at 20 metre intervals starting from the NW corner of the original 1 ha plot and followed the corner pegs of the twenty five 20 x 20 m sub-plots established throughout the 1-ha. An additional seventh E-W transect was installed 10 m from the southern boundary of the original 1 ha plot (i.e. the southern-most three transects were at 10 m spacing). The N-S transects were located at 10 metre intervals starting from the SW corner of the 60 x 100m western extension to the original plot and followed corner pegs of the fifteen 20 x 20 m sub-plots and 10 m flagged markers midway along the sides of each 20 x 20 m subplot.
Point intercept measurements:
Vertical (bubbles centred in densitometer spirit levels) sightings were made every 1m along each transect. All vegetation intersected either by the cross-hair in the densitometer (pointing upwards), or laser point (pointing downwards), was recorded at each measurement point. The height stratum of each parent plant intersected by either the densitometer or laser was visually estimated, and species determined.
