This dataset consists of flux tower measurements of the exchange of energy and mass between the surface and the atmospheric boundary-layer in a farming area using eddy covariance techniques. The data were processed using PyFluxPro (v3.4.18) as described by Isaac et al. (2017). PyFluxPro produces a final, gap-filled product with Net Ecosystem Exchange (NEE) partitioned into Gross Primary Productivity (GPP) and Ecosystem Respiration (ER).
The Myall Vale B site is located on a privately owned irrigated field near Boggabri New South Wales. The terrain is flat and elevation of the site is close to 240 m above mean sea level.

Purpose
The purpose of the Myall Vale B Flux Station is to:
- Develop and ground-truth the APSIM model.
- Develop and ground-truth satellite based evapotranspiration models at pixel to catchment scale.
- Complement and infill gaps in agricultural flux datasets in the treatments and locations being measured
- Along with soil carbon and plant biomass data provide input for carbon balance research.
The station was commissioned on 17 January 2024 and is managed by CSIRO Environment.
Lineage
All flux raw data is subject to the quality control process OzFlux QA/QC to generate data from L1 to L6. Levels 3 to 6 are available for re-use. Datasets contain Quality Controls flags which will indicate when data quality is poor and has been filled from alternative sources. This data for this version starts on 28/11/2023, but the equipment was not installed on site until 17/01/2024. Any data before 17/01/2024 was collected during testing at a different location and is not representative of the site.
